What we expect you to do

This key role within our finance function will see you being the lynch pin between the Finance Director and our 2 transactional teams of which you will manage the team leaders. You will be tasked with reporting creditor and debtor information to the Finance Director. Also, within this rapidly growing SME you will be required to improve process and implement automation.

You will be someone who likes to dot I’s and cross t’s, detail focused with an ability to embed strong process.

We have a strategic 5-year plan in place which will see the company more than double in revenue size and as the business grows, it will be your financial controls that help keep everything on an even keel.

This is a new role and provides an exciting opportunity to the successful candidate to really make their mark within the organisation. In an ideal world, you will have worked in a rapidly growing SME and be able to demonstrate that you have driven change and developed a high performing team.

You will need to be able to

Manage intercompany reporting between UKWSL and its sister companies.

Lead and manage the finance team of 2 functional teams, providing on the job training and mentoring.

Lead and deliver change management including automation.

Analyse debtors and creditors regularly and make recommendations.

Work closely with the Treasury Analyst to optimise debtors & creditors.

Develop finance KPI’s.

Report and provide commentary on financial ratio’s.

Work closely with the Senior Management Accountant to ensure transparency, consistency and efficiency of reporting.

Deliver and document processes within the finance function.

Efficient time management – to be able to manage your own workload through effective time management.

Confident and capable IT skills – you will be using Microsoft Office and Accounting Packages, you need to have a good level of competence, being able to operate with confidence and without supervision.

Make Change – the ability to be analytical and to deliver recommendations and changes through your analysis.

You will have

Experience working with a turnover in excess of £20m

Experience working with high volumes of customers and suppliers

Advanced Excel skills

Prior experience of managing a team

Sage 200 experience desirable

Commercial acumen

Resilience and drive to achieve results

You will report to the Group Finance Director.

You will be based in Newark, Nottinghamshire at our Head Office location.
