What we expect you to do

By putting your customer at the heart of everything you do you will offer best in industry account management service, which will demonstrate to our customers that we are a different type of corporate and that by having chosen to partner with us we will make a difference to their business.

The Account Management Executive will have a customer centric approach, developing strong working relationships with your dedicated customer, you will work closely with them and during this process be able to demonstrate an understanding of the client’s needs and offering innovative, forward thinking solutions.

You are responsible in supporting the Senior Account Manager to drive the business forward through innovative solutions for your customers. You will identify new and relevant revenue streams and present them in a clear and concise way at site and Head Office level.

You will also be responsible for identifying new and relevant revenue streams within your customer’s portfolio and across the group of businesses, including UKBee and Innovatefm.

You will consistently achieve KPI’s that are set by the business.

You will gain and expand your knowledge of your client’s industry and that of the waste industry. You will make a difference to your customer by using this knowledge to offer bespoke solutions to your client base in line with the client’s needs and strategic plan without compromising legislation, service provision and margin.
Maintain customer records and service details using our bespoke system The Hub so information is accurate and up to date and can be used effectively throughout the business.

 

You will be responsible for supporting the Account Manager in account retention by developing successful relationships with the key stakeholders by conducting site audits and meetings as appropriate

You will be the first point of contact for account queries from the internal departments at UKWSL for the customer and ensure the communication between the client and the business are upheld with set KPI targets.

Effectively work with our Supply Chain department and external contractors to ensure continuous service delivery is upheld

Liaise with your finance contact to ensure the account is kept up to date and manage the debtor days with your client

Provide weekly updates to the Account Manager reporting on weekly activities

Provide a report to the Account Manager monthly, ready to present in the monthly Account Management meeting.

Provide monthly statistical data analysis pertinent to the client’s requirements, this should include but is not limited to;

landfill diversion rates,

spend

education & training support requirements,

market knowledge

compliance updates & records and service success

 

The skills you will need are

Decision making – you will be able to independently make difficult and strong decisions and be able to implement them quickly and effectively

Highly effective communication skills – you will make a difference by listening well, asking good questions, building superb relationships, writing clearly and talking with confidence, you will have the ability to seek out information and pass it on appropriately throughout the business

Numerical ability – you will be able to analyse data, calculate pricing ensuring that margin is in line or exceeds target expectations and have the ability to provide financial reporting when required.

Efficient organisation – you will need to work quickly and accurately with a strong eye for detail, so that your customers always get a good high quality service

Efficient time management – to be able to manage your own workload through effective time management

Confident and capable IT skills – you will be using Microsoft Office, you need to have a good level of competence, being able to operate with confidence and without supervision. You must be able to present information quickly and clearly having the ability to use all the basic functions well

Fantastic relationship builder – through your customer centric attitude, you will have the ability to build strong relationships, with our network of suppliers and the departments that you will work with specifically, Accounts, Logistics and Supply Chain

Great Customer Care – To be creative, focused and close to your customers driving excellence through customer care

Make Change – you will make a difference by having the ability to be analytical and to deliver change through your analysis

Negotiation – you must use your integrity and assertiveness to achieve a sustainable working relationship for UKWSL and our partners

You will have

Proven customer service and account management skills

Hazardous waste experience to support the Corporate Account Manager

A working knowledge of H&S regulations and UK Waste Legislation

Been a key player in effective team

Achieved GCSE Grade C in Maths & English

Advance level IT skills, being able to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Pride in your role and will be well presented, eloquent and professional

Having the ability to drive and motivate yourself, you will be results-orientated with a positive outlook and clear focus on high quality customer service and business profit

The ability to forward plan and be able to critically analyse your own performance

The ability to work under pressure and to strict targets and deadlines

 

You may have:

Experience of Key Account Management or Sales within the waste industry
