Chris Giscombe is joint Chairman and co-owner of UKWSL. After a spell in the hospitality industry which culminated in running his own pub, Chris changed direction by taking a position as a local sales rep for Biffa. He was fast tracked to National Accounts after just 18 months and one year later was recognised as the highest sales achiever for the company. During 2003 Chris made “his big decision” to strike out with trusted ally Garry Johnson and together they created UKWSL.
Under their stewardship UKWSL has become recognised for professionalism, innovation and best value. The company is at the forefront of the waste industry and a major influence on how waste should be managed now and, in the future. This in turn has led to his tenure as the first Chairman of the recently formed Waste Management Brokers Association (WMBA).
Chris is proud of his achievements and believes strongly that, one of the secrets of success, is to surround yourself with good people.
